Reciprocal

Getting to know someone means that you have to be willing to be known. You can't expect to see them unless you're willing to show yourself. And so you have to trust that you'll be accepted and respected and understood yourself, just as you trust that you can accept, respect and understand what they reveal.

So much of who I am and how I see my life sits in the context of religion. That is foreign in the world where I live. I fear that few will understand who I am beneath the surface because they think in different categories. I don't exactly know how to be true to myself as I reveal myself in a way they can relate to... Actually, I don't even know how to fit myself into words.
